Empowering Self Help Group Women

Sangini Saheli is a women’s welfare initiative founded by Priyal Bhardwaj with a mission to empower, uplift, and connect women and children across India. Through collaboration with Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Sangini Saheli promotes financial independence, skills training, and confidence-building among women in underserved communities. This initiative fosters economic empowerment while addressing critical social issues such as education, health, and sanitation.

Empowering Self Help Group Women

Empowering women across the country has always been the soul of Sangini Saheli’s work. Through our flagship Shakti Program, we initiate tailored projects that focus on issues like health, menstrual hygiene, education, livelihood, and safety. We work directly with women, identify the barriers they face, and support them in overcoming those hurdles with practical solutions.

Our interventions focus on menstrual health awareness, access to hygiene products, knowledge of legal rights, and hands-on vocational training. In a country where millions of women are still denied education and economic opportunity, we believe that equipping them with these resources transforms not just individual lives—but entire communities. We advocate for a change in mindset around the girl child, and strive to replace inequality with opportunity.

Shakti also promotes skill-building and entrepreneurship, with training programs and mentoring sessions designed to help women build income streams and exit poverty cycles. We provide access to credit, information, and networks, enabling them to become confident micro-entrepreneurs. Our ultimate goal: to erase gender bias and elevate every woman to her fullest potential.

Empowerment

  • Each group becomes a safe space where women earn, learn, support each other, and lead the change they want to see around them.
  • Over 5,000 women from rural and semi-urban communities across Delhi, Alwar, and Mahendragarh—primarily first-generation earners, caregivers, and community influencers.
  • Livelihood training in tailoring, embroidery, bioenzyme production, and handmade sanitary pads.
  • Financial literacy and digital inclusion sessions
  • Menstrual hygiene awareness and production/distribution
  • Health, nutrition, and legal workshops
  • Training centres and community spaces across villages and peri-urban zones in Rajasthan and Delhi NCR
  • Active since 2022, expanding each year with support from Sangini Saheli, aligned with government schemes like Lakhpati Didi and Mahila Samman Bachat Patra

Achievements

  • 350+ SHGs formed and sustained.
  • 5,000+ women trained in income-generating skills.
  • Over 10,000 families reported increased household income.
  • 1,00,000+ individuals benefited from health, legal, and wellness outreach.
  • First rural SHG-led units to distribute eco-friendly pads and natural cleaners across Rajasthan villages.
  • Literacy and digital learning circles now running independently in 25+ locations.

Our women are not beneficiaries. They are builders—of homes, networks, and futures. And with every thread stitched, every product sold, every form signed—they remind us what grassroots leadership truly looks like.

Education & Skill Development

Education is the foundation upon which self-worth, independence, and progress are built. At Sangini Saheli, we focus on bridging educational gaps in marginalized communities by offering literacy programs for women and children. Through small-group learning, we help them achieve basic education and personal growth.

  • Our life skills and vocational training workshops are designed to strengthen women's ability to earn and sustain livelihoods, especially those balancing family duties. Alongside this, we run knowledge-sharing initiatives that empower women to make informed decisions about health, finance, and social rights. When equipped with tools for growth, women don’t just transform their lives—they become changemakers in their communities
